Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid scrutinising the details of the special press conference for the 3rd Meeting, 2nd Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly.

IPOH, 21 November 2024 - The Third Meeting of the Second Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly will be held from 29 November to 5 December.

Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Dato' Abdul Khalid said, as usual, throughout the five-day sitting, the oral question session will last for three hours.

"For this sitting, the State Assembly Assistant Secretary has received two notification of motions," he said at a special press conference at Bilik Sidang Media, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were State Assembly Deputy Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen and State Assembly Assistant Secretary Amir Fadli Mohamed Halmi.

"The first motion is the Supply Enactment 2025 and Development Fund 2025 Proposal, which will be tabled by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad.

"All the State Assemblymen will be given the opportunity to participate in the debate session. The debate session for government supporters and the opposition leader is 45 minutes each, while for other State Assemblymen it is 20 minutes each.

"The second is the proposal for the Appointment of Senators. So far, two people have been nominated and nominations will be open until 22 November 2024.

"The debate session is scheduled to take place during the second sitting on 2 Dec 2024," he said.

He also announced that on 29 November 2024, Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad will officiate the launch of the Perak State Assembly Portal, to be introduced for the first time.

"The State Assembly Portal will contain various information, including the Speaker's messages, State Assembly’s history and background, information on the mace, information on the constituency and social media of State Assembly Members, State Constitution, Enactments and Standing Orders, list of Speakers and Deputy Speakers, list of select and special committees, as well as office addresses of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and State Assembly administration," he elaborated.
