IPOH, 23 November 2024 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim graced the State Deepavali Celebration 2024 at the Indera Mulia Stadium.

HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah and HH Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim were also in attendance.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer  Zubin, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Legal Advisor Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, Senators, State Assemblymen, Territorial Chiefs, as well as the heads of state and federal departments.

in his speech, Dato' Seri Saarani called on Perakians to strengthen their resolve and determination to nurture values of goodness to overcome evil.

"As people who love peace and harmony, we must not allow our beloved country and state to be destroyed by divisive elements. Let us work together in nurturing values of goodness by galvanising efforts to build unity.

"Each of us has a responsibility in building harmony together, strengthening mutual understanding and fostering brotherhood," he said.

At the event, Their Royal Highnesses presented donations to 67 orphans from Pertubuhan Penjagaan 1 Malaysia Perak, Pusat Penjagaan Gembala Baik, Vision Home, Pusat Penjagaan Pelangi Perak and Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah.

More than 8,000 visitors of various races attended to enliven the celebration, besides enjoying the various delicacies, such as Pasembor, Teh Susu Lembu, Tosai, Muruku, Idiyappam, Kolukattai and Kuih Beras Kukus.
