CHEMOR, 20 December 2024 - Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced an allocation of RM1 million to the At-Taiyyibin Islamic Studies Centre in Tanah Hitam during the Mahabbah Visit and People's Feast at the centre.
"I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all those who worked on this study centre, including the surrounding residents.
"This is a proud achievement as they have taken their own initiative to develop this waqf land," he said.
He added that the study centre aims to improve morals and manners, and master the basic knowledge of religion.
"Our true goal is to educate the community, provide understanding and uplift the dignity of individuals. Therefore, we have a study centre not only to gain knowledge but also to improve manners and morals," he said in his speech.
Moreover, he said that the construction of mosques is everyone's responsibility.
"Some people misunderstand, thinking that this is solely a government allocation. However, everyone must contribute at least RM1 to build a mosque.
"Enlivening and building mosques is everyone's responsibility. That's why I pay special attention to study centres. It is because of their initiative to develop, build and prosper."
"Likewise with zakat. If zakat is not paid, the institution collapses because there is no pillar to protect the needy and defend the plight of the poor.
"For this, as a start, I have allocated RM1 million for this study centre.
"Hopefully, all the knowledge and understanding here can be elevated to save our community and society," he said.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee Chairman Dato' Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Patron of At-Tayyibin Centre for Islamic Studies Dato' Dr. Mohd Fadzilah Kamsah.
The At-Taiyyibin Islamic Studies Centre has the trust and approval of the Perak Mufti Department to be developed on waqf land of the Perak Islamic Religious Council and registered under the Islamic Religious Schools Control Enactment of the Perak Islamic Religious Department.
The development of the project on an area of 6,508 acres involves the construction of modern single-storey small houses, single-storey semi-detached houses, lecture and community halls, and an administrative complex.
