The Perak Menteri Besar during the Executive Talk and New Year Message 2025.

IPOH, 23 January 2025 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad outlined five main focuses as the state government's important agenda this year in his Executive Talk and New Year Message 2025.

All five focuses are key to the important agenda to be achieved by the state government, guided by the recommendations and aspirations of HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah as a foundation of the efforts in achieving the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan.

The five focuses are:

1. Sustainable and Resilient Economy

Perak will continue to focus on expanding strategic economic initiatives through the implementation of high-impact projects, technological innovations, and diversification of revenue sources in making Perak an important contributor to the national economic growth.

2. High-Impact Delivery Systems

The governance and ecosystem of the delivery system must be constantly improved to ensure more effective and high-impact development. Among the areas that require attention are:

• Reduce bureaucracy that delays investment and introduce easier business procedures to attract foreign and domestic investors.
• Increase transparency in the management of public resources and ensure that project implementation runs effectively for the benefit of the people.
• Close cooperation between the state and federal governments to secure support for large-scale infrastructure development and attract more strategic investments to Perak.

3. Nurturing Human Capital Towards a Perak Sejahtera 2030

The Perak State Government is determined in making the state a National TVET Corridor with a comprehensive technical education ecosystem. Perak is moving forward to emerge as a centre of excellence in TVET, not only for local needs, but also as a national reference.

4. Technology and Innovation as Drivers of Change

In the context of Perak, technology needs to be a bridge that connects the glory of the past with future aspirations.

Therefore, the Perak Digital Transformation Plan will ensure that technological advancements are experienced by all levels of society, with mobile internet coverage reaching 99.6% and over 700,000 premises equipped with fibre optics to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural areas.

5. Mitigation and Disaster Preparedness Measures

Perak will continue to lead disaster mitigation, climate change, and environmental restoration efforts to ensure the well-being and safety of the people remain a priority, through the implementation of disaster-related infrastructure projects and expanding disaster simulation training to the local community to face disaster situations.
