The State Government has appointed the chairman, deputy chairmen and 63 selected representatives.

IPOH, 24 January 2025 – The Perak State Government has launched the Perak Women's Consultative Conference 2025 to discuss key issues related to women and significant proposals to be considered by the Perak State Executive Council.

State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee Chairman Dato' Salbiah Mohamed made the announcement when officiating the Media Conference on the Launch and Presentation of Representative Appointment Letters for the Perak Women's Consultative Conference 2025 at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

"The Perak Government remains committed to ensuring that women's voices continue to be heard and appreciated. The organisation of this conference is a clear testament to the continuous efforts to strengthen the role of women as leaders, economic drivers, and agents of change in the state.

"The conference is scheduled to take place on 23 Feb 2025 to reflect the State Government's determination to build a more inclusive, harmonious and progressive future in empowering women in Perak," she said.

She added that the State Government has appointed the chairman, deputy chairmen and a total of 63 selected representatives.

"The first chairman is Behrang Assemblyman Salina Samsudin, who is also a board member of the Perak Public Library Corporation.

"The deputy chairmen are Buntong Assemblyman Thulsi Thivani a/p Manogaran, a lawyer, and Simpang Pulai Assemblyman Wong Chai Yi.

"This conference is a continuation of the Perak Women Inspiration Programme (WINP), which includes modules on leadership development, self-identity formation, communication skills training for participants from various backgrounds to become agents of change and icons in their respective communities," she said.

Also present were Perak Social Welfare Department Director Nor Tipah Majin, Perak Women and Community Development Secretariat (Wanita Perak) Director Jamilah Zakaria, and Perak Women Development Office Director Kavaramma a/p Subramaniyam.
