HRH Sultan Of Perak Graces Opening Of UTAR Hospital.

KAMPAR, 19 February 2025 – HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the opening of Universiti Tuanku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Hospital here.

His Royal Highness' arrival was welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, and UTAR Sdn. Bhd. Director and Tunku Abdul Rahman College board member Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Sak Cheng Lum.

Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Jeneral Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin (Rtd), State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, and State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim were also in attendance.

Also present were State Exco Members, Perak Senators, Perak Territorial Chiefs, UTAR Chancellor Tun Dr. Ling Liong Sik, UTAR Hospital Board Chairman Ir. Academician Emeritus Prof. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Chuah Hean Teik, and heads of state departments and agencies.

The ceremony began with the singing of the State Anthem and recitation of the holy verses of the Quran, before His Royal Highness signed a plaque symbolising the opening.

His Royal Highness then paid a visit to UTAR Hospital to see the facilities provided there, followed by a group photo session before taking his leave.

In his speech, Prof. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Chuah Hean Teik said as of last December, UTAR Hospital has received 35,000 patients for services at the Medical Specialist Centre. Apart from offering health services to the local community, the hospital also received patients from outside Perak.

"The hospital, located within the UTAR Kampar Campus, not only has a spacious environment but also a strategic location that provides easy access to the surrounding community, including residents from Ipoh, Gopeng, Tapah, Proton City, Tanjung Malim, Teluk Intan, Cameron Highlands and Malim Nawar.

"Besides its strategic location, the hospital is developed in stages, and in the initial stage, the complex houses 250 beds for Western Medicine and 100 beds for Traditional and Complementary Medicine," he said.

At the same time, UTAR Hospital offers a complete range of services via its Medical Specialist Centre as well as its Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre (T&CM Centre).

In addition, the hospital also provides various of essential facilities, including 24-hour emergency services, ambulances, outpatient clinics, health screenings, endoscopy, operating rooms, and other medical services.
