A Total Of 19,012 People Receive Kad Perak Sejahtera Aid.

IPOH, 22 February 2025 – As of February 2025, a total of 19,012 people have received the Kad Perak Sejahtera (KPS) aid to assist the B40 group, the poor and hardcore poor in purchasing daily necessities.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this when officiating the Aid Handover Ceremony for Kad Perak Sejahtera Programme Recipients at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
"The State Government is targeting 20,000 Heads of Households as recipients. This aid can be used at 291 registered panel shops and supermarkets, with a total value of RM1,200 per year or RM100 per month for each recipient. A total of 1,002 new applications have been received with 915 applications approved, with the highest number received from the Kinta district involving 430 applications," he said.
He added that Kinta district has a high number of applications as it has five parliamentary constituencies with a large percentage of the population. The Perak State Government's agenda is to assist the people.
"We are committed to ensuring that this programme continues to benefit the people who really need it, and will continue as part of the people's well-being agenda," he said.
Earlier, he officiated the Perak Women's Consultative Conference 2025 which brought together 63 women delegates from various backgrounds to strengthen the role of women in the state's leadership and development.
"The State Government hopes that this conference can formulate high-impact resolutions that will be the basis for new policies in strengthening the role of women in the state’s leadership and development.
"With these two initiatives, the Kad Perak Sejahtera and the Perak Women's Consultative Conference 2025, the State Government demonstrates its concern and commitment towards the people’s well-being and the empowerment of women in the state’s development," he said.
Also present were State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee Chairman Dato' Salbiah Mohamed, Perak Women and Community Development (Wanita Perak) Secretariat Director Jamilah Zakaria, and State Economic Planning Unit Sectoral Deputy Director 1 Kumaresan a/l Lingam.
