HRH Sultan Of Perak Graces Perak Sports Awards 2023/2024 Ceremony.

IPOH, 30 July 2025. HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the Perak Sports Awards 2023/2024 Ceremony at Hotel Casuarina@Meru here.

Also gracing the occasion were HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim and HH Raja Kecil Besar Perak Raja Dato' Seri Azlan Muzzaffar Shah Nazrin Shah.

The event was also attended by Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen (Rtd) Dato’ Seri Diraja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Rasiah Mohd Noor, Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah.

Also present were State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members and Perak Sports Council (MSN) Director Mazlan Mohamad.

His Royal Highness also presented the Sportsman Award to national lawn bowler Izzat Shameer Dzulkepli, and the Sportswoman Award to national tenpin bowler Sin Li Jane.

Izzat Shameer Dzulkepli helped the national lawn bowls squad by bringing home four gold medals at the 16th Asian Lawn Bowling Championships and the 14th Asian Under-25 (U-25) Lawn Bowling Championships in Clark, Philippines last April.

Sin Li Jane ended her 2024 campaign in style by becoming the first Asian bowler to win the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour Player of the Year title in the United States. She earned the award after winning four titles: the US Women’s Open, Tour Championship, Journal Rockford Open and Greater Nashville Classic.

Both athletes received a medal and cash incentive of RM7,000 each.

Low Jeng Yih, a beach volleyball athlete, and Joelle Chang Zu-Ee, a swimmer, were crowned Most Promising Sportsman and Most Promising Sportswoman, while two cyclists, Mohamad Yusof Hafizi Shaharuddin and Nur Suraya Muhammad Zamri were named Best Male Para Athlete and Best Female Para Athlete, respectively.

Also receiving awards were cycling coach Hishamuddin Mohd Zaki (Best Coach Award), Dato’ Seri Abdul Puhat  Mat Nayan (Sports Leadership Award), Mohd Jamil Zakaria (Service Recognition Award), Mohamad Ayob Kamarudin (Sports Family Award), Razif Rosli and Mohd Fitri Azman (Media Awards), Perak Bison (Best Team Award) and the Perak State Golf Association (Special Sports Association Award).

In his speech, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said that the Perak Sports Council (MSN) has pioneered several key initiatives, including the Perak Podium Programme, introduced in 2017, the Atlet Kita Juara programme, which nurtures the potential of local talents, and various grassroots development efforts. He said there are currently 202 potential athletes under the Perak Podium Programme, in preparation for higher-level competitions.

He added that MSN Perak continues to prioritise the athletes’ welfare and character development, in order to maintain the state's sports image holistically.
