Courtesy Visit By Ambassador Of The Republic Of Uzbekistan To Malaysia On Perak Menteri Besar.

His Excellency’s arrival is welcomed by Halizah Sipun, Kumaresan A.L. Lingam and Anita Amri.

IPOH, 13 August 2025 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad received a courtesy visit from H.E. Dr. Karomidin Gadoev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Malaysia at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan today.

His arrival was welcomed by Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) Deputy Sectoral Director 1 Kumaresan A/L Lingam and SUK Perak Corporate Division Principal Assistant Secretary Anita Amri.

Upon arrival, H.E. Dr. Karomidin Gadoev was escorted to the Perak Menteri Besar’s office for a discussion session.

Also present was State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.

This meeting symbolised the increasingly strong bilateral relations between Perak and the Republic of Uzbekistan. It also opened a new chapter in strengthening strategic cooperation networks that have the potential to bring great benefits to both parties, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, culture, education and tourism.

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on regional economic developments and explored new cooperation opportunities believed to be able to strengthen economic development and prosperity of both parties.

One of the main focuses was to intensify the promotion of Islamic tourism, seen as a cultural bridge that could elevate Perak and Uzbekistan as international tourism destinations.

Perak was the first state to be officially visited by H.E. Dr. Karomidin Gadoev since he assumed the position of Ambassador to Malaysia. This was a great honour for Perak, reflecting Uzbekistan's confidence in the state’s potential as an important strategic partner in the Southeast Asian region.

The Perak state government believes that this visit will open up broader cooperation opportunities, strengthen friendly relations, and add value to efforts in driving the state’s development agenda in line with the aspirations of Perak Sejahtera 2030.
