IPOH, 21 September 2025 - Themed 'Celebrating Perak's Young Talents', the Youth-Friendly Carnival (KAMU) 2025 focuses specifically on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said that this is because the Perak State Government is confident that TVET is the bridge to the future.

According to him, TVET is a pathway to building future careers and, most importantly, TVET is the key for young people to rise together to develop the state.

"Our state is actively developing these high-impact projects that require skilled and semi-skilled workforce who are ready."

"All of them bring billions of ringgit in investments and promise tens of thousands of job opportunities and therefore, we do not want these job opportunities to be taken by outsiders, while Perakians are just spectators," he said at the Youth-Friendly Carnival (KAMU) 2025 Summit  at the Indera Mulia Stadium grounds here.

Also present were State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, Perak Menteri Besar’s Political Secretary cum KAMU 2025 Director Mohamad Hamidi Baharuddin, PORT General Manager cum KAMU 2025 Joint Director Nur Hanim Khairuddin, as well as heads of state and federal departments.

According to Dato' Seri Saarani, today's job market no longer depends solely on academic certificates, but instead demands skills, innovation and creativity.

He stated that the Perak State Government has established the State TVET Council to ensure the goal of making Perak the National TVET Corridor can be achieved.

"We are currently strengthening the existing TVET institutes in Perak, nearly 100 in total, and we have sent young people from Perak abroad, including to China and Germany, to deepen and master skills in various fields.

"We have also established close collaboration with the industry, held career exposure programmes in secondary schools, and opened employment pathways for TVET graduates," he added.

Earlier, Dato' Seri Saarani took the time to conduct a walkabout session at the AIM TVET With Cikgu Saarani Programme in conjunction with KAMU 2025 at the Indera Mulia Stadium.

Entering its fourth year, KAMU 2025, which started modestly, has now grown into an annual event eagerly awaited by the youth of Perak.
