HRH Sultan Of Perak Officiates Opening Of Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh.

Their Royal Highnesses are welcomed upon arrival by guests present.

IPOH, 29 October 2025 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Opening Ceremony of Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh at No. 2, Persiaran Sunway, Sunway City, here.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja General (Rtd) Dato’ Seri Diraja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Rasiah Md. Nor and State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah.

State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Legal Adviser Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, State Chieftains, heads of state and federal departments, Sunway Group Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah and Sunway Healthcare Group President Dato’ Lau Beng Long were also in attendance.

In his speech, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said that the opening of Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh is a new landmark in the development of the state’s healthcare sector.

“This hospital not only expands access to modern treatment for the people, but also strengthens the state’s healthcare ecosystem and opens up more professional and technical job opportunities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dato’ Lau Beng Long in his welcoming speech, said that the new hospital is the fifth under the Sunway Healthcare network with an investment exceeding RM430 million, equipped with 259 beds and modern facilities, including a PET-CT Scanner and the first Mako SmartRobotics System in Perak for cancer diagnostics and high-technology joint surgery.

He added that the development of Sunway City Ipoh, which also houses The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, Lost World of Tambun, as well as the new Sunway Ipoh Shopping Centre project will further boost local economic growth and make Ipoh as a leading tourism and healthcare destination in Malaysia.
