IPOH, 4 January 2026 – The harmony of the family institution is the main pillar in shaping civil servants with integrity and maintaining spiritual well-being, so that the best service delivery can be provided to the people.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said this when officiating the 2026 Kelab Seri Perak Darul Ridzuan (KESEDAR) Family Day Programme at the Lost World of Tambun here.

The event, which began as early as 9.00 am, was enlivened by the presence of more than 1,600 KESEDAR members and their families, reflecting the strong spirit of togetherness and unity among the Perak civil service staff.

Also present were State Secretary cum KESEDAR President Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Nor Sham Rahman, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun and heads of departments.

Dato’ Seri Saarani added that civil servants are not just policy implementers, but rather a reflection of the government’s image in the eyes of the people.

“The way we treat the people, listen to their grievances and resolve their daily affairs is what shapes the people’s confidence in the government.

“However, the strength is not born solely from the system and policy, but from the people who move it and the family who are the pillars of emotional stability and integrity in them,” he said.

He also stressed that a harmonious family can produce civil servants who are patient, wise and capable of making fair and balanced decisions in the interests of the state and people.

“When our hearts are calm at home, we are more focused at work. When our minds are organised, the decisions made are also wiser. That is where the true strength of a civil servant begins,” he said.

Dato’ Seri Saarani also shared his personal experiences and observations in the fields of education and parenting, while emphasising the concept of ‘rumahku syurgaku’ as the foundation for the formation of balanced personality and emotions among children.

According to him, a loving home environment, good communication and parental attention not only shape well-adjusted children, but also produce a future generation with great character and vision.

Commenting on the challenges of 2026, Dato’ Seri Saarani reminded civil servants to continue to carry out their duties prudently, listen with empathy and maintain human values in every matter, in line with the demands of the people and the increasingly dynamic changes in the technological and economic landscape.

“Work is a trust, and family is also a trust. Civil servants who are emotionally calm and whose families are happy, God willing, will provide services that are more sincere and of higher quality,” he said.
