IPOH, 22 April 2026 – In an effort to strengthen integrity and efficiency of public financial management, a total of 300 Perak state civil servants participated in the Government Procurement Course Series 2 for the Implementing Group, held at Hotel Casuarina@Meru here.

The two-day programme focused on the important role of the implementing group as the backbone in ensuring that all every government procurement process is carried out transparently and with accountability.

Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Nor Sham Rahman said government procurement is no longer just an administrative matter, but rather a strategic function that determines spending efficiency and the level of people’s trust in the government.

According to her, every ringgit spent carries a great trust and must be managed with full integrity to prevent leakages and maintain the credibility of public administration.

Throughout the course, participants were exposed to various aspects, including procurement procedures, audit findings, implementation issues and corruption risks in government procurement.

The programme is hoped to enhance the professionalism of civil servants, thereby strengthening the state government’s service delivery system.
