IPOH, 15 October 2020 - The Perak State Government hoped that all departments and agencies would focus on introducing new innovations in the delivery system in accordance with the new normal.

In his speech, Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the importance of innovation needs to be seen holistically to ensure that policies that are no longer relevant need to be reexamined to improve the government's delivery system.

"We often think that innovation is an effort that involves the use of technology, engineering or something of a scientific nature in solving problems.

"In the context of the state government administration and civil servants, innovations should not be limited to the elements I mentioned earlier. Among the innovations we can perform are to review rules, guidelines and practices that are no longer relevant to the current situation," he said at the Perak State Level Innovation Day 2020 Celebration at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato’ Zulazlan Abu Hassan, State Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee Chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud and Exco members.

At the ceremony, the Menteri Besar also presented the 2020 Perak State Innovation Main Award to the Viper Group from the Perak Veterinary Department which received RM5,000.00 cash and a trophy.

The group presented the Viblower project that was developed to address the problems of catching and disposing of stray dogs during the rabies outbreak.
