IPOH, 6 December 2020 - The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Taman Meru 2C (Zone B and Zone C), which has been implemented for sixteen days since 20 November for controlling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic officially ended today.

Kinta District Officer Meor Hezbullah Meor Abd Malik said the withdrawal of frontliners signified the end of EMCO in the area.

“I would like to thank the frontliners who worked so hard to shoulder the responsibilities given to them.

"Not only that, the cooperation from all the Taman Meru 2C residents is also very much appreciated and the success of going through the EMCO period is a joint success," he said at the Withdrawal Ceremony at Taman Meru 2C.

Also present were Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz and representatives of government departments and agencies.

Meanwhile, the Taman Meru 2C EMCO closing gimmick was successfully completed with the folding of the Incident Command Post (ICP) banner by representatives of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), before the handover was performed by Ipoh District Police Chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz as the Operations Commander to the Kinta District Officer.

The EMCO in the Taman Meru 2C area was terminated earlier than scheduled because the active cases in the area have been reduced.

However, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is still in force in Kinta District until 20 December 2020.
