IPOH, 1 March 2021- Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad became the earliest individual to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the Indera Mulia Stadium Vaccination Centre (PPV) through the state-level National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme.

Dato' Saarani Mohamad led a total of 221 individuals to receive the injection, including State Executive Council members and State Health Director Dato' Dr. Ding Lay Ming.

He said 221 frontliners working in offices and health laboratories around Kinta district also received the same injection at the launch of the programme here today.

“Based on the State Health Department data, Perak has received 22,230 first doses of vaccine supply to be given during the first phase implementation.

"For that purpose, 39,760 frontliners in Perak will receive vaccinations in the first phase which is expected to be completed by the end of April,” he said in a press conference.

He elaborated that the total number of frontliners consists of 22,094 Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) staff while the remaining 17,666 frontliners are from other departments who are also directly involved in the prevention and control activities of COVID-19.

The First Phase Immunisation also covers PPVs at identified health clinics, hospitals and halls throughout the district.

Vaccine recipients who have registered will receive notifications via the MySejahtera application regarding the date and PPV set.

"Once again, I wish to appeal to the people, especially those in Perak to get their vaccine injections as scheduled by the MOH," he said.

Meanwhile, the public can refer to any state health department if there is any doubt or uncertainty to obtain more accurate and reliable information.
