GERIK, 20 March 2021- The first 100 days as Perak Menteri Besar is not a benchmark for a given responsibility in steering the administration of the state.

Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the task as Menteri Besar is a huge responsibility and is like a marathon race.

“The Menteri Besar must plan the state’s continuous development for the benefit of the people regardless of the number of days.

"Administering a state to me is like a marathon race, but we need to know where to go fast and where to slow down,” he said.

He said this at a press conference during the Mesra Reception Ceremony in Kampung Bongor, near here today.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and State Executive Council members.

Dato' Saarani Mohamad elaborated that the state government was actively planning various initiatives for the people’s benefit in the first three months, including the Perak State Development blueprint, the ‘Perak Bumi Lestari’ initiative and Cikgu Saarani Tuition Programme.

“We still have plans for Perak, and I believe they can be implemented together with the state government staff in continuing to drive the state’s development.

"We cannot wait for anything, for example, during this Covid-19 pandemic, we can't see whether it will end in the near future or not, so the development done now is as far as we are able," he said.

Earlier, the Menteri Besar arrived at Dewan Terbuka, Felda Bersia to officiate the Land Title Handover Ceremony to Felda Bersia Settlers.

At the ceremony, he presented land title grants to 51 Felda Bersia settlers.
