IPOH, 2 April 2021- To confront the new normal and the increasingly challenging national development ecosystem, civil servants play a big role and must always be prepared to face changes and improvements to the existing work system.
State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, in response to the Public Service Director-General’s aspirational call, said civil servants must together change and transform the public service into a service that is respected, revered, admired because of its fast service, integrity and professionalism.
“This is also in line with the Perak Menteri Besar’s aspiration to strengthen the public service delivery system through three approaches that need to be instilled.
"The first is to keep our eyes and ears open so that we are more sensitive to the problems and take early action, then, go down to the ground, plan solutions and reach out to the people, as well as identifying problems or needs of the people from time to time. Lastly, to work together as an example of strategic cooperation among government departments, the private sector and NGOs. Indeed, this cooperation is very important so that the idea of improving the work system can be worked on more widely,” he said.
He said this in his speech at the Perak Forestry Department Excellent Service 2020 and Retirees Appreciation 2021Awards Presentation Ceremony at the Perak Royal Golf Club here.
Also present were Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Director-General Dato' Mohd Ridza Awang and Perak Forestry Director Dato' Mohamed Zin Yusop.
Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi explained that the Perak State Government is committed in achieving the vision of Prosperous Perak, Peaceful People by launching the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 Roadmap.
“This roadmap is a preparatory plan of the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 which contains four phases and is expected to be completed in the fourth phase scheduled around November 2021 until February 2022.
“This plan has five strategic thrusts, namely, the balance of physical and socio-economic development, smart collaboration, sustainable use of resources and nature, efficient and caring service delivery system, and quality and high value expertise.
“All five cores of the strategy will also be supported by five common values, such as honesty, wisdom, caringness, togetherness and firmness. So, in order to realize this agenda, civil servants must embrace this plan and then work together to provide the best service to the people," he said.
At the ceremony, Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim also launched the Perak Forestry Department ‘Jompay’ online system. The system is a new approach taken by the State Forestry Department to deliver services efficiently.
