The Perak Menteri Besar witnessing the MoU Signing Ceremony Between PPPNP with Risda Livestock Sdn Bhd and Perak Farmers Organisation.

IPOH, 2 December 2021: The Perak State Agriculture Corporation (PPPNP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Risda Livestock Sdn Bhd (RLSB) and Perak Farmers Organisation (PPN) to develop the Halal Meat Hub Development Project.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said through this MoU, RLSB and PPN will supply livestock cattle to PPPNP as the implementing agency.

“It is the first step to the success of the Perak Halal Meat Hub Development Project to be launched by PPPNP later.

“The project to be launched is also a continuation of PPPNP's efforts via its subsidiary, Eurofresh Sdn Bhd, to explore new markets involving the distribution, supply and local meat business as well as frozen products, including imported meat,” he said.

He said this after witnessing the MoU Signing Ceremony Between PPPNP with Risda Livestock Sdn Bhd and Perak Farmers Organisation at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were Chairman of the Perak Farmers Organisation Board of Directors Dato' Sham Mat Sahat, PPPNP Chief Executive Officer Yahanis Yahya and Risda Livestock Operations Manager Syed Kudri Tuan Dalam.

Dato' Seri Saarani said the initiative was in line with the aspiration of the Perak State Government in ensuring food security.

“Besides that, we also want to strengthen the livestock industry to benefit farmers and livestock breeders.

"This is the aspiration of the state government for 2022, that is, to give priority in leading the agro-agriculture sector focussing on four main components, namely expansion of new farms, strategic investments, entrepreneur development and social welfare," he added.
