Perak Approves RM23 Million For PRE Perak Sejahtera Projects

The Perak Menteri Besar during his winding-up session at the First Meeting, Fifth Year of the 14th Perak State Assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
IPOH, 30 March 2022 - A total of RM23 million has been approved for the Perak Sejahtera Economic Stimulus Package (PRE) Projects according to the portfolios of the respective State Executive Council Members.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this during his winding-up session at the First Meeting of the Fifth Year of the 14th Perak State Assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.
"I am pleased to inform that until 30 March 2022, Perak Sejahtera PRE Projects totalling RM23 million has been approved according to the portfolio of the State Executive Council Members, comprising 11 components," he said in the winding-up session.
The highest allocation was given to the Local Government, Housing and Tourism Committee at RM4.5 million, followed by the Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee at RM4 million.
The Women, Family, Community Welfare and NGO Development Committee received RM2.5 million and the Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee received RM2.49 million.
Meanwhile, the Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee received RM2.43 million and the Youth, Sports, Communication and Multimedia Committee received RM2.08 million.
The Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee received RM1.5 million and the Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee received RM1.32 million.
He added that the Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee received RM1 million, while the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, National Integration and Civil Society Committee, and the Islamic Religion, Finance, Security, Land, Natural Resources, Economic Planning and GLC Committee each received RM0.58 million.
Previously, during the tabling of the Perak State Budget 2022 in December 2021, he had allocated additional development funds via a trust fund of RM47 million to strengthen the strategy to revitalise the state economy for PRE Perak Sejahtera.
