IPOH, 6 April 2022 - Perak State Secretariat for the first time organised a Ramadan Bazaar at the parking lot of Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan from 6 - 29 April 2022.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the State Government took the initiative to provide opportunities for more traders to conduct business in the month of Ramadan.

“The Ramadan Bazaar was organised after considering the issues of limited number of traders allowed to operate on existing sites due to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the National Security Council.

“Hopefully, the space and opportunities given to these traders or entrepreneurs can boost the economic cycle and increase their sales revenue," he said.

He said this after officiating the Ramadan Bazaar@Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan Opening Ceremony at the parking lot of Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Zulazlan Abu Hassan and State Executive Council Members.

Dato' Seri Saarani said this organisation received the cooperation of Maybank and LokeinSTORE, in line with the state government's aspiration to strengthen the digitisation of Perak entrepreneurs and implementation of cashless payments.

"Maybank has provided a QR payment platform and business account facility to the traders involved with a minimum deposit of RM100.

"Meanwhile, LokeinSTORE also provides Lokein e-Commerce system technology (O2O) which is equipped with QR payment system, Online Marketing Tools and various other facilities related to customer database," he added.

The bazaar organised by the Perak State Secretariat is a joint venture with the Perak State Entrepreneur Development Secretariat (STeP) and operates from 4.00pm to 8.00pm every day except Saturday and Sunday.

A total of 32 local food entrepreneurs will operate stalls selling a variety of food and drinks as well as various cakes for breaking fast.
