The Perak Menteri Besar chats with civil servants at the breaking fast ceremony.

IPOH, 21 April 2022 - About 600 people attended the Perak Menteri Besar's Breaking Fast Ceremony with State/Federal Department Officers and Staff 2022 at Laman Seri Ridzuan tonight.

The event started at 6.30pm with the arrival of Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.

Dato' Seri Saarani said he was thankful that Raya this year can be celebrated with a lively atmosphere but precautions must be taken.

“Alhamdulillah, in the endemic phase, we will be able to celebrate more joyously than in previous years due to the COVID-19 threat. This time, we are able to return to our hometowns and meet our relatives after not seeing them for so long.

"However, I would like to remind myself and everyone, this does not mean that we are free from the COVID-19 threat, we must remember that this epidemic is still around us.

"We must be vigilant and take strict measures in compliance with the SOPs such as regular hand washing or sanitising and physical distancing," he said in his speech.

The ceremony began with the tahlil and doa by State Mosque Muezzin Haji Yusof Ahmad.

The guests then performed the congregational Maghrib, Isya' and Tarawih prayers, led by State Mosque Chief Imam SF Haji Abd Farid Salleh.

Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Zulazlan Abu Hassan, Deputy State Mufti Dato’ Zamri Hashim and Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) CEO Shahrul Azam Shaari.
