Day One: Working Visit Of Spouses Of The Ambassadors Of Latin American And Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) To Perak.

IPOH, 15 June 2022 - The Working Visit of the Spouses of the Ambassadors of Latin American and Caribbean (GRULAC) Countries to Perak began with a visit to the DAYBREAK Association for the Welfare of the Disabled.

The working visit comprised the Chile Ambassador’s wife Dr. R.A Ambara Baratawidjaja, Cuba Ambassador’s wife Madame Saimi Reyes Carmona and Peru Ambassador’s wife Madame Sandra Isabel Massieu De Morote.

DAYBREAK’s chairman Puan Sri Dato’ Sandra Lee said she was very delighted with the arrival of the GRULAC ambassadors’ wives and took the opportunity to share a little about the purpose and goals of the association.

“The DAYBREAK association focuses on empowering Disabled People (OKU) to become individuals who are able to do everything on their own, independently and can get along well with others.

"We train our students in various fields, such as handicrafts, agriculture, socks making, assembly and packaging and general cleaning," she explained during the visit session.

Also present were Perak Social Welfare Department (JKM) Director Nor Tipah Majin and Women and Community Development Secretariat (SPW) Director Srihartini Mohamed Shamsudin.

Later, the delegation proceeded to the Weil Hotel for lunch and the presentation of souvenirs to the visitors.

Also present were Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid’s wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah and Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants Association (PUSPANITA) Chairman Datin Nor Amizan Kamarudin.
