The SUK Perak Contingent marching into the stadium during the 8th SUKSEM Carnival 2022 Opening Ceremony.

SHAH ALAM, 25 October 2022 - The 8th National State Secretariat Sports Carnival (SUKSEM) 2022 has opened after the last time it was held in 2018 in Kelantan.

SUKSEM 2022 was officially opened by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Aminudin Shari at the Panasonic Stadium here.

In this edition, SUKSEM 2022 was organised by the Selangor State Secretariat which was also responsible for hosting the carnival.

The opening ceremony began with a march-past by the 12 state contingents accompanied by the beating of drums by a band to raise the spirits of the athletes to be the champions.

The ceremony continued with a doa recitation, recitation of tournament pledge and a performance from the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (PADAT).

After that, a speech from Selangor State Secretary Dato' Haris Kasim, followed by the opening speech by Dato' Seri Aminudin Shari who then performed the launch gimmick.

SUKSEM 2022 will be held from 25 to 30 October 2022 with 10 sports events to be contested, including netball, tenpin bowling, golf, volleyball, darts, badminton, table tennis, football, sepak takraw and electronic sports or e-sports which were introduced for the first time in this edition.
