YBUDR and Kotak Global Sdn Bhd agreed to build five Mahasiswa Sejahtera kiosk units.

IPOH, 16 April 2023 – Yayasan Bina Upaya Darul Ridzuan (YBUDR) and Kotak Global Sdn Bhd (KGSB) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the Mahasiswa Perak Sejahtera 2030 Programme.

The MOA signing ceremony between the two companies, represented by YBUDR Chief Executive Dato' Ismail Saffian and KGSB Chief Executive Fatima Chan Abdullah, was witnessed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad at Hotel Casuarina@Meru this afternoon.

Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said via the MOA, YBUDR and Kotak Global Sdn Bhd agreed to build five Mahasiswa Sejahtera kiosk units which will serve a variety of food at a lower price.

"Mahasiswa Perak Sejahtera is a special programme created by the state government to help students, graduates and youths from the B40 group and asnaf to get nutritious food at a lower price.

"The programme is also able to produce entrepreneurs among youths and graduates, besides generating job opportunities along the food and beverage supply chain based on digital platforms," ​​he said.

He added that to support the government's efforts towards cashless payments, an e-wallet platform will be created to be used by students, graduates and youths.

"As a start, the pilot project programme will be initiated at Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) and after successful implementation, it will be expanded to other universities in Perak," he said.

Also present were Perak Agriculture Development Corporation Chief Operating Officer Mohd Kahar Mukktaruddin, Perak State Development Corporation Chief Executive Officer Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak and a delegation from USAS.

The ceremony ended with a breaking of fast event with the Perak Menteri Besar and Anak Angkat Cikgu Saarani, and Maghrib, Isya' and Terawih congregational prayers.
