HRH Sultan Of Perak Says Muslims Must Be Ready To Undergo Migration Of Mind And Culture.

IPOH, 19 July 2023 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah said Muslims must be ready, even obligated, to undergo a migration of the mind and culture to be able to understand and interpret current issues from various dimensions and empower them to tackle and master current situations, especially the rapid technological revolution.
"A migration of the mind requires breaking free from ignorance and comfort zones, and requires courage to explore new knowledge, skills, mediums and methods in line with the needs of the time.
"The migration of the mind requires a mind that is thirsty for progress, a wise and rational mind, a liberated mind that is not subservient, and a mind that is unafraid of change," the Sultan said at the State Ma'al Hijrah 1445H/2023M Celebration at Casuarina@Meru in Meru Raya here.
Also gracing the event were HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah and HH Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Jeneral Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin Bersara), State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) President Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini and Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) Director Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim.
The Sultan said cultural migration is the willingness to abandon obsolete or decayed cultures.
"It needs to be replaced with a more dynamic culture that reflects noble character, discipline, dignity, trustworthiness, honesty and sincerity based on Islamic principles and values.
"Migration is a form of jihad, and those who migrate in the path of Allah will attain success and a better life," said His Royal Highness.
At the event, Sultan Nazrin presented the Tokoh Ma'al Hijrah 1445H Award to the Founder of Yayasan Pembangunan Masjid Wilayah Bagan Serai, Jurij Sulaiman and the Saidina Abu Bakar Award (Tokoh Ar-Ridzuan) to Muhammadiah Mosque, Ipoh Chairman Dato' Dr. Fadzli Cheah Abdullah.
Both the recipients received cash of RM15,000 each, an Umrah package worth RM9,000, a trophy and a certificate worth RM300.
His Royal Highness also presented the Saidina Ali Award (Tokoh Belia) to the President of the Malaysian Islamic Youth Association (ABIM) Perak, Mohamad Saifuddin Abdul Latif, the Siti Khadijah Award (Tokoh Wanita) to Dr. Umi Khaltum Ngah and the Asnaf Icon Award to Hasarinawati Abdul Wahab.
The Sultan also presented the Al-Baqi Award (Best Islamic Cemetery Management) to the Tanah Perkuburan & Waqaf Am Islam Kariah Rapat Setia, Ipoh, and the Al-Quba Award (Best Mosque Management) to the Al-Hidayah Mosque, Behrang Bandar 2020.
The recipients each took home RM5,000 in cash, a certificate and plaque worth RM150.
