HRH Sultan of Perak launching the Opening Montage of the 34th Annual Representative Conference of PPKM.

IPOH, 26 July 2023 – HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Royal Banquet in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the 34th Annual Delegates Conference of the Malaysian Government Pensioners Association (PPKM) 2023 at Casuarina@Meru here.

His Royal Highness’s arrival was welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and PPKM President Tan Sri Wan Mahmood Pawan Teh.

Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad in his speech said, armed with experience as civil servants in various fields including departmental administration, education and security services, retirees are an important asset in engineering national development.

"The world of the public service has taught them everything about life, sacrifices and success.

"Training, experience, interaction, relationships with colleagues, and the network of departments where they work are valuable assets and learning experiences to provide the best service," he said.

Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco members and heads of state and federal departments.

Dato' Seri Saarani added that without realising it, all the knowledge, skills and experience became important and valuable assets when they enter the world of retirement.

"In Perak alone, there are approximately 60,000 retirees and most of them are members of the community playing an important role at the village and neighborhood level, and thus indirectly are involved in creating the state's prosperity and well-being.

"Relying on that confidence, the State Government always welcomes the views and suggestions of retirees in sharing their valuable experiences while serving as civil servants," he added.

At the ceremony, HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah launched the Opening Montage of the 34th Annual Representative Conference of PPKM.
