IPOH, 17 August 2024 - The State Economic Planning Unit in collaboration with Institut Darul Ridzuan has organised a Workshop on Perak Blue Economy Framework Formation at the M Roof Hotel in Ipoh.

The two-day workshop was to discuss the basis and input to the formation of a framework based on the strengths, potential, obstacles and challenges faced in the development of the blue economy in Perak.

A total of 60 participants from state and federal departments, statutory bodies, state government-linked companies (GLCs) and Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) attended the workshop.

In addition, a knowledge sharing session was conducted by speakers from the Institute of Oceanography and Environment, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (INOS-UMT).

The speakers were INOS-UMT Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Effi Helmy Ariffin, INOS-UMT Centre for Ocean Governance (COG) Head Prof. Dr. Wan Izatul Asma Wan Talaat and INOS-UMT Sea Turtle Research Unit (SEATRU) Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Uzair Rusli.
