The Agriculture and Food Security Deputy Minister during the courtesy call on the Perak Menteri Besar.

IPOH, 20 February 2025 - Agriculture and Food Security Deputy Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup paid a courtesy call on Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad at his office in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

The visit aimed to discuss issues related to the agriculture sector and food security in Perak, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the state and federal governments in the efforts to enhance national food productivity and security.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views and formulate a more holistic strategy in addressing the challenges and opportunities in the state's agriculture sector.

Hopefully, through the outcome of this meeting, a stronger and more continuous form of cooperation can be established between the state and federal governments in the efforts to empower the agriculture sector and ensure that food security in Perak is at its best level.

Together with the strong synergy between the two parties, it can drive the development of more modern agricultural infrastructure, expand the use of smart technology in the agriculture sector, and create new opportunities for farmers, planters and livestock breeders.

Also present at the session were State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee Chairman Dato' Mohd Zolkafly Harun, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, Deputy State Financial Officer Aida Hazlyn Hassan, Agriculture and Food Security Ministry representatives, as well as heads of state and federal departments.
