LUMUT, 15 June 2025 — Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar officiated the Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation for the Bureaucratic Red Tape Reform (RKB) Projects during the MADANI Rakyat Programme 2025 at the Perak State Secretariat booth, Lumut Waterfront here.

Seven completed RKB projects in Perak have now yielded returns of RM 300 million to the people and businesses, through government cost savings, increased revenue collection and operational efficiency.

Meanwhile, 14 more projects are currently being implemented across the state as part of initiatives that serve as a tangible manifestation of the Kuala Lumpur Declaration – an understanding between the Federal and State Governments to reduce bureaucratic red tape, boost productivity, and ease the lives of the people.

People’s affairs that previously took several days can now be resolved within minutes, as applications can be tracked directly from home, thus eliminating commuting costs, reducing regulatory compliance burdens, and freeing up time for more productive activities.

Government operational savings can also be channelled into public facility projects, such as the construction of better parks, clinics and roads, thereby improving the quality of life for residents.

For traders, faster licence and permit procedures also reduce waiting costs and help company cash flow.

This approach enables companies to focus capital and labour on more value-added activities, thus driving productivity growth and creating a more efficient, user-friendly and competitive business climate.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato' Nor Sham Rahman,  Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Director-General Datuk Zahid Ismail, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, Perak Tengah District Council Secretary Mohd Ainurridha Ahmad Majdi, Tanjong Malim District Council President Shazree Idzham Wahab Abdul Rahman, and Manjung Municipal Council President Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri.
