TELUK INTAN, 11 August 2025 - For the first time, Hilir Perak district has been selected as the venue for the Perak State Government Meet The Clients Day (MCD) MESRA Programme Series 6/2025 since it was implemented four years ago.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this during a press conference held in conjunction with the Perak State Government Meet The Clients Day MESRA Programme Series 6/2025 at Dewan MPTI in Langkap here.
"Hilir Perak district is the fourth location chosen for the programme outside of Ipoh, and the first time it is held in this district after nearly four years of its organisation. This clearly reflects the ongoing efforts of the Perak State Government to expand access to government services and provide more equal opportunities for the people in various areas," he said.
He added that the district recorded the highest number of complaints during the MCD programme, with a total of 224 complaints.
"Today, 224 complaints were received, which is the highest number ever recorded throughout the organisation of this programme.
"Up to the fifth series, we have successfully collected a total of 548 complaints, of which 466 (85%) have been resolved, while the remaining 82 complaints (15%) are still in the follow-up process," he elaborated.
Also present were State Legal Advisor Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Exco Members, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Nor Sham Rahman, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, Perak Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) Director Dato’ Kamalludin Ismail and Hilir Perak District Officer Mufidah Mahfodz.
This MCD edition brought together 64 customer service counters and two mobile counters, in addition to offering cheap sales and Rahmah sales to make it easier for the public to access various government services and obtain daily necessities at reasonable prices, thus easing the burden of the cost of living.
Also held were a Free Engine Oil Change Programme by GIATMARA Teluk Intan and a Free Haircut Programme by GIATMARA Bagan Datuk, each limited to 50 people, to give the public the opportunity to enjoy the benefits directly.
At the same event, Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad also officiated the Price Catcher Promotion Tour in conjunction with the Perak State Level National Month 2025, an initiative by KPDN to promote the use of the Price Catcher application among residents of the state.
The mobile application with the tagline #ComparePricesBeforeBuying was developed to help users compare prices and empower smarter purchasing decisions. Price Catcher displays price information for 480 selected items at various retail premises, including wet markets, hypermarkets, supermarkets, mini markets and sundry shops, as stated on the KPDN website.
