IPOH, 11 April 2021 – A total of 61 Perak Youth Representatives, including two special representatives from the Disabled Person (OKU) and Orang Asli groups, received their letters of appointment as Perak Youth Assembly members for the Third term 2021/2022 session.

The appointment letters were presented by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad at the Perak Youth Assembly 2021/2022 Session Appointment Letters Presentation Ceremony at Hotel Impiana in Ipoh.

In his speech, the Menteri Besar said the holding of the Youth Assembly is the State Government’s effort to raise the voice and dignity of youths in Perak.

"Through this platform, the Representatives have the best space to discuss issues related to the welfare of the youths, people and state, as well as coming up with new and extraordinary ideas," he said in his speech at the Perak Youth Assembly appointment letters presentation ceremony here today.

He stressed that the Perak Youth Council representatives, as preparation, need to increase their reading and be aware of current issues in order for the Perak Youth Assembly debate to be conducted in a mature atmosphere and give a positive impact on the development of the youths and state.

Also present were Perak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Youth, Sports, Communications and Media Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamad and Youth Assembly Speaker Jamilah Zakaria.

The nomination session was conducted since last February with the registration of 257 candidates, and the selection session carried since last March with 20,000 registered voters.
