BATANG PADANG, 24 July 2021 – A total of 3,000 first doses of vaccine were given to residents in Felda Besout 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The Batang Padang District Vaccination Outreach Mobile Trailer Programme was conducted at Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Besout 1 from 22 to 24 July 2021.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the programme was a collaboration between the Cub Prix Malaysia Fan Club and Safe Aim Mutual Sdn. Bhd and the Perak State Government.

This programme is one example where non-governmental organisations (NGOs) together help realise the efforts to accelerate Perak's transition to Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan by fulfilling one of the threshold values, i.e. achieving 40% vaccination.

Also present were Deputy Education Minister II Senator Dato' Dr. Mah Hang Soon, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Slim Assemblyman Mohd Zaidi Aziz and Muallim District Police Chief Superintendent Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman.

At the same time, a volunteer, Siti Nur Firdausil Izaimi Husna Mohd Aziz, 21, said the programme received very encouraging response from the residents here. As volunteers, they can gain knowledge while helping the public.

“Before becoming volunteers in this Felda, we were trained at the Trolak Vaccination Centre (PPV). During training, we learned how to help the vaccination programme from more experienced volunteers. There, we met Malaysian Vaccine Support Volunteers (MyVac) and other NGO volunteers,” she told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Menteri Besar clarified that the Perak State Government is always ready to provide vaccines to all the people of Perak.

“After I inspected the vaccination in Tapah and Lenggong, we have sufficient manpower and facilities to succeed in the initiative to vaccinate all the people of Perak. Now, we only rely on the number of vaccines sent by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI),” he explained to reporters at the programme.
