Perak Expands Economic Stimulus Package To Aid Micro, Small And Medium Enterprises.

IPOH, 19 0ktober 2021- Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad today visited 11 entrepreneurs of various categories and announced the Economic Stimulus Package (PRE) aid totalling RM46.5 million specifically to assist the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Perak.
First, a special one-off RM300 aid to 41,730 hawkers and small traders registered with the local authority with an allocation of RM12.5 million. Second, the Perak Entrepreneur Grant (GeRUP) amounting to RM1.85 million to 619 recipients.
Third, reparations worth RM30,000 for traders involved in the cancellation of the Aidilfitri Bazaar this year and rental exemption to 10,264 stalls under the local authority, involving a total sum of RM1.6 million.
Next, a moratorium on repayment of loans from Tabung Usahawan Yayasan Perak and Yayasan Bina Upaya micro credit loans involving 743 borrowers.
Meanwhile, for the agricultural sector, the state government will provide aid to farmers, breeders and fishermen such as farm and livestock input assistance, provision of seeds and equipment for agricultural harvesting activities, human capital development programmes and food boxes.
He also announced the Bantuan Perak Sejahtera Usahawan Kraftangan Perak of RM182,000 to 91 handicraft entrepreneurs in the state who have not received any aid from any agency before.
“This one-off aid of RM2,000 could hopefully help these entrepreneurs resume their businesses.”
“Not only that, as a sign of support, I have requested all state agencies and government-linked companies to use the products of Perak entrepreneurs as official souvenirs.
“From this visit, our efforts to instill the concept of business digitisation already had a positive impact, especially from the aspect of entrepreneurial marketing. Sales that had previously dropped begun to rise. In fact, some have increased during the Movement Control Order period. I also received several views in our efforts to implement the recovery plan to revive the economy of the people and state.
"The state government via the State Economic Planning Unit, State Entrepreneur Secretariat and Institut Darul Ridzuan will continue to find ways to empower entrepreneurs to rebuild their businesses after the Covid-19 pandemic," he told reporters during the Perak Entrepreneur Friendly Visit Programme at Miker Pizza today.
Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee chairman Dato' Zainol Fadzi Paharudin, Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, who is also State Economic Planning Unit Director and State Entrepreneur Secretariat Director Mohamad Rozlan Mohamad Razali.
