BATU GAJAH, 9 December 2021- The Perak State Government will attract more international tourists to the state via several new tourist attraction products introduced.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said among the tourism products are the National Heritage Dredge, i.e., Tanjung Tualang Dredge No.5 (TT5) and TT5 Maze Park, Taman Pagar Sesat.
The products would be promoted along with several other attractions, such as Kuak Hill Resort, Embun Sahom Gopeng and Ipoh City Council products like Gunung Lang.
He said he and several representatives of agencies and departments are expected to leave for Dubai from 26 Dec 2021 to 2 Jan 2022 to showcase these tourism products at the upcoming Dubai Expo.
He told reporters this after making a working visit to the TT5 and TT5 Maze Park.
Earlier, the state government received a visit from a delegation from Germany who had indirectly promoted the state to other European embassies.
"The delegation then contacted State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim for an appointment to visit Perak in March 2022," he said.
Thus, his visit was to obtain information directly related to the development and restoration of dredges, which are icons of tin mining in the Kinta Valley National Geopark, as well as development plans in the next 10 years.
“I believe there are more efforts to improve that can still be done to attract domestic and international visitors. Local visitors will be interested to come here because of the variety of history it brings.
"Uniquely, this dredge in Perak is the only one that still exists in the world," he added.
Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee Chairman Dato' Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi; Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, who is also the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) Director and MB Inc. Chief Executive Officer Anuar Zainal Abidin.
