IPOH, 13 December 2021: The Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, launched on 29 March 2021, is expected to be ready in February 2022.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said the development plan was developed based on three main principles, namely inclusive, realistic and achievable.

“The first phase was conducted through engagement sessions with government agencies and two series of workshops were conducted to finalise the vision, mission, strategic thrust and shared values.

"The second phase implemented involved engagement sessions with State Government administrative staff and State Assemblymen (ADUN)," he said.

He said this when answering an oral question at the Second Meeting, Fourth Year of the 14th Perak State Assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

He added that the strategic initiatives, sub-initiatives and action plans according to the portfolio of the State Executive Councillors were formulated during this phase.

“The process of mapping and aligning existing development plans with the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 is also being carried out.

“Currently, the preparation of the Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 is in the third phase, which involves engaging with stakeholders at the district level.

"This phase involves the development of strategic initiatives and programmes as well as action plans according to administrative districts in Perak," he said.

According to him, the fourth phase will involve the preparation of a monitoring plan and the final draft of the plan, which is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

He said the plan is centred on the goal of ‘Perak Makmur Rakyat Sejahtera’ with the aim of driving sustainable, inclusive and dynamic socio-economic development.

“This plan is developed by working on existing plans, including the Malaysia 5-Year Development Plan, Vision for Shared Prosperity 2030, State Structure Plan, District Local Plan and other relevant plans.

"Therefore, this plan will outline strategies based on the advantages and potential of the State in order to support the development of traditional industries, digital economy, food security, tourism and emerging industries to further contribute to state’s GDP growth," he said.

Apart from taking into account existing development plans, the Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 also takes into account the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
