The Perak Menteri Besar and guests performing the launch gimmick by throwing volleyballs in the sports arena.

IPOH, 23 January 2022 - The Perak State Government is actively providing sports facilities to produce youths who are active in sports and recreation.

The Perak Menteri Besar said he wanted the youths in the state to take advantage of the sports facilities provided. In fact, great players and national representatives were also produced from small village areas. As such, the state government was always striving to provide better sports facilities for the country.

He said this when officiating the Aulong Sports Arena near the Aulong Wet Market in Taiping today.

Aulong State Assemblyman Nga Kor Ming said the transformation of this sports arena was realised as a result of cooperation with the state government for the wellbeing of the residents in this area.

“Today, the Perak Menteri Besar also officiated the public recreation park and the main parking lot for the Aulong Wet Market. We are grateful to the state government.

“This centre was built in 2004, but later it became dilapidated, overgrown with undergrowth and once was a haunt for drug addicts.

"Now, it is our responsibility, the Aulong Service Centre and Taiping Member of Parliament, to supervise and take care of this area for long-term use and be the pride of Aulong residents," he explained.

The Perak Menteri Besar also took the opportunity to plant the Bucida Tree when officiating the public recreation park.

Also present were Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, Larut Matang and Selama District Officer Mohamed Akmal Dahalan and Jalong State Assemblyman Loh Sze Yee.
