IPOH, 13 May 2022 – HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah launched the WaQaf 365 Programme at Hotel Impiana here.

WaQaf 365 is a programme under the Perak Islamic Economic Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (PSB), which is wholly owned by the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk).

The programme is a medium for Muslims to contribute wakaf throughout the year online via a simple, continuous and systematic Infaq-Pay system, apart from monthly salary deductions.

PSB Chairman Dato' Dr. Mohamad Hashim Ahmad Tajudin in his speech said WaQaf 365 provides an opportunity for all levels of society to contribute wakaf based on their respective financial capabilities.

"Through the Infaq-pay contribution channel and the concept of engaging the contributor to contribute wakaf by 'direct debit' every month or one-off, PSB is targeting 10,000 contributors or a total collection of RM3.6 million per year.

"The choice of '365' is symbolic as a message to all Muslims that wakaf contribution can be done every day and throughout the year," he said.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Zulazlan Abu Hassan, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Jen. Dato’ Seri Diraja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi and State Exco members.

Dato' Dr. Mohamad Hashim called on the community, especially government and private agencies, Islamic finance industry players, trust and inheritance management companies, and Muslim scholars to come forward together to contribute to the success of the WaQaf 365 programme.

"The whole community is invited to come forward to contribute via this programme in the form of materials, services, thought, energy and time so that wakaf can play an effective role in developing the socio-economic status of the ummah.

"Besides that, PSB will also launch the Amanah Lil Wakaf programme with strategic partners, such as takaful companies and trust and inheritance management companies to diversify the channels for cash and non-cash wakaf contributions," he added.
