IPOH, 28 May 2022 - The state government has contributed RM140,000 to the Malaysian Government Pensioners Association (PPKM) Perak.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said in his speech when officiating the PPKM 35th General Delegates Meeting 2022 at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

“We have agreed to contribute RM50,000 to PPKM this year. Since there are 9 branches in Perak, we give each branch another RM10,000. The total is RM140,000.

"Hopefully, it can be used for recreational activities and the organising of beneficial programmes for retirement age," he said in his speech.

He firmly believed that members of this association have sacrificed a lot and gave the best service to the people throughout their service in the government.

The event at 3.00pm was also attended by State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, PPKM Perak President Dato' Mohamed Hamzah and PPKM Perak Honorary Secretary Nooriah Ibrahim.

Dato' Mohamed Hamzah during his speech also shared some information on the association with the guests.

“This association was formed 50 years ago at the national, state and district levels. In Perak, we have 9 branches. For Muallim and Batang Padang districts, they merged into one branch. Similarly, for Kinta and Kampar as well as Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk districts.

"We are very grateful to the state government for always caring for this association and we will continue to strive to serve the people," he said.
