IPOH, 15 June 2022 - The Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 outlines six agendas that reflect the people’s aspirations, such as wellbeing, security and development with the mission ‘driving sustainable, inclusive and dynamic socio-economic development’.

The Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 Launch Ceremony was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel this afternoon.

The Menteri Besar said the first agenda is food security. This agenda focuses on agriculture for large-scale food production.

The second agenda is the digital economy. The potential of businesses using internet technology in Malaysia is 31 billion USD in 2025. Perak plans to strengthen digital infrastructure to meet business needs in the digital economy, besides driving innovation and technological adaptation.

The third and fourth agendas are data-driven decision making and the Malaysian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) corridor.

“Public data analysis involving data integration systems and analysis from other departments and agencies will be strengthened. This is important to establish inter-agency collaboration in information and decision sharing.

"Perak will also be a technical education hub in five districts, namely Perak Tengah, Kinta, Manjung, Larut Matang and Selama and Kuala Kangsar," he said.

Next is sustainable mining which also outlines the state government's commitment to practise responsible and sustainable mining via rehabilitation of mining sites after mining ends.

Lastly, the governance of state-owned projects. He added that a sustainable economy must be driven by the principles of transparency and efficient governance.

"Project evaluation and coordination must go through due diligence to ensure that state development projects are awarded to those qualified, thus giving confidence to investors," he said in his speech.

Also present were the Menteri Besar’s wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Zulazlan Abu Hassan, Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) CEO Dr. Maisarah Ahmad and State Exco members.
