Day Two: Working Visit Of Spouses Of The Ambassadors Of Latin American And Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) To Perak.

IPOH, 16 June 2022 - The visit on the second day focused on tracing the Cantonese heritage around Ipoh to get to know more closely the culture, food and environment here. 

The first location for the delegates was Concubine Lane. The delegates were seen to be enchanted by the historic buildings and food along this alley.

Then, on foot, they were taken to the Ho Yan Hor Museum which commemorates the historical journey of the origin of Ho Yan Hor herbal tea by its pioneer Dr. Ho Kai Cheong. They also have the opportunity to taste the tea which is believed to have medicinal value.

The working visit comprised the Chile Ambassador’s wife Dr. R.A Ambara Baratawidjaja, Cuba Ambassador’s wife Madame Saimi Reyes Carmona and Peru Ambassador’s wife Madame Sandra Isabel Massieu De Morote.

Next, the delegates had lunch at Chang Jiang Coffee Restaurant in People’s Park, and later took the opportunity to visit the Paloh Koo Miu Temple which was built since 1872, making it one of the oldest temples in Perak.

Concluding the working visit was Gua Putih Cave or better known as Kek Lok Tong Cave.

Accompanying the delegates’ working visit were Ipoh City Councillor cum Ipoh City Watch Chairman Clr. Dr. Richard Ng and Tourism Perak Administrative Officer Suhazliza Yahya.
