IPOH, 28 February 2023 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the Perak State Level Al-Quran Recitation and Memorisation Prize Presentation and Closing Ceremony, held for two days from Monday at the Casuarina Convention Centre in Meru here.

Accompanying the Sultan were HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Puan Besar Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah, HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah and HH Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Abdul Halim Shah.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) President Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini and Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) Director Harith Fadzillah Abdul Halim.

Mohd Kamaruzaman Daud emerged as the qari champion while Nurul Syafiqah Nardi was the qariah champion, and each took home cash prize of RM10,000, a replica of the Prophet's bowl, a haj package, a certificate and accompanying gifts.

The qari runner-up was Mohd Sahran Termizi with Mohd Ashaari Lemaan in third place, while the qariah runner-up was Norhazira Nabila Mohammad Kamel with Puteri Kalimatul Azzua Hamid in third place.

The runners-up and third places each received RM7,000 and RM5,000 cash respectively, a certificate and accompanying gifts.

For the memorisation category (1-30 juzuk), Muhammad Adib Ahmad Rozaini emerged as the qari champion, while Aqilah Sulhi Ahmad Rozani was the qariah champion, and each received cash prize of RM10,000, a replica of the Prophet’s bowl, a haj package, a certificate and accompanying gifts.

The winners of the recitation and memorisation competition will represent Perak at the National Level Al-Quran Recitation, scheduled to be held at Arena Butterworth, Penang in June.
