IPOH, 15 June 2023 - Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and State Exco members celebrated the one-year success of Perak Sejahtera 2030 at the Ipoh Convention Centre this afternoon.

Accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubir, he presented the progress of the one-year implementation of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 development plan to more than 2,000 attendees in conjunction with the First-Year Anniversary Celebration of Perak Sejahtera 2030.

In the economic aspect, he said Perak was on the right track when it recorded a total of 294 approved investment projects in 2022, involving an investment of RM6.6 billion with RM2.28 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) offering 7,682 job opportunities.

"Moving forward, investment in Perak sees very encouraging prospects as in the second quarter of 2023 we are among the top four states to have attracted the majority of approved investments, i.e., RM7.1 billion, an increase of 550% compared to RM1.3 billion in the same period last year," he said.

He said within a year, Perak received many high-impact investments, including the Automotive High Technology Valley (AHTV) project worth RM32 billion in Tanjung Malim, the construction of an XP Power electronics factory in Seri Iskandar (RM300 million) and construction of a mineral processing plant in Silver Valley Technology Park (RM100 million).

He added that Perak has improved broadband infrastructure, including speeding up the National Digital Network (JENDELA) project and has built 71 Digital Economy Centres (PEDi) throughout the state to provide collective internet access to rural residents.

Perak is also not lagging behind in implementing government digitisation by introducing several systems and applications, including MyPatil (Premis Perniagaan Digital), One Stop Centre 3.0 Plus Online (OSC 3.0 Plus) and Park@Perak which is used by Local Authorities (PBT) as an additional alternative to vehicle parking payments using coupons.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and State Exco members.
