The Perak State Secretariat contingent.

IPOH, 31 August 2023 - A total of 25,000 people flooded the Indera Mulia Stadium grounds from about 6.00 am for the Perak State Level National Day Celebration 2023.

The event started upon the arrival of HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah together with HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim and their two children, HH Raja Kecil Besar Perak Raja Dato' Seri Azlan Muzaffar Shah and HH Raja Dato' Seri Nazira Safya at about 8.20 am.

His Royal Highness then inspected the Main Guard of Honour (MGH), comprising 3 officers and 103 personnel from the Royal Engineer Soldier Regiment 2nd Division, Camp Sangro, Taiping, under the command of Colonel Abdul Rahim Hamzah with Major Mohd Nurul Jasan as the MGH head, Warrant Officer 1 Mohamad Fairus Nizam Zabory as parade major and Lieutenant Mohamad Afiq Haris as flag bearer.

The MGH was accompanied by the Royal Malaysian Navy KD Pelandok Band, and followed by the singing of the Negaraku and Perak anthem.

The celebration continued with the recitation of the National Day pledge by 16 students of Pre-University College, KPM, Seri Putra in front of the main stage and a choir performance by 100 students from 2 schools, namely SMJK Sam Tet and SMJK Ave Maria Convent with 3 songs - Malaysia MADANI: Tekad Perpaduan Pehui Harapan, Tanggal 31 and Jalur Gemilang.

The musical performances showcasing the elements of unity and harmony of the various races in the peaceful and prosperous life in Malaysia captivated the spectators.

The highlight of the celebration was the parade of 91 contingents comprising 4,855 participants, including 65 contingents from government departments, uniformed bodies, districts, Public and Private Higher Education Institutes, schools, local authorities and statutory bodies. It also involved 14 school marching bands and 8 vehicle contingents from various government agencies, statutory bodies, NGOs and the private sector.

 Also gracing the event were HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Puan Besar Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris Shah and HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah. Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and State Exco Members.
