The Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman at the Perak Innoride Cycling Programme 2023.

IPOH, October 29, 2023 - The Perak Innoride Cycling Programme 2023 is the best way to invigorate the spirit of innovation besides strengthening friendship among the participants of the state of Perak.

State Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee Chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah said a total of 300 participants of various races and ages participated in the event.

"We can see that the response to the programme is very good with participants of various races and ages.

"This is the first event held, and for next year we may discuss improvements in terms of the number of participants and the distance, as the cycling route today is only 12 kilometres and is considered short," he said.

Representing Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, he said this at a press conference after the cycling programme at Dataran Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were Ipoh Mayor Dato' Rumaizi Baharin, Perak Sports Council Director Mazlan Mohamad and Corporate Division Principal Assistant State Secretary Anita Amri.

Khairudin Hanipah added that a cycling programme like this is beneficial to health.

"Programmes like this also serves as a platform to educate the community on the importance of exercise for good health and fitness.

"Through cycling activities, it can indirectly help the people of Perak to practise a healthy lifestyle and at the same time make the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda a success," he said.

The Perak Innoride Cycling Programme 2023 was held in conjunction with the Perak State Level Innovation Day Celebration to be officiated by the Perak Menteri Besar on 1 November.

Besides the cycling event, various programmes were organised to celebrate the State Level Innovation Day 2023, including the Perak State New Horizon Innovative & Creative Group (KIK) Documentation Preparation and Strengthening Workshop, Perak State Innovation Month Celebration Launch, Innovation Seminar and Perak State New Horizon KIK Innovation Award Competition.
