Perak Actively Attracts Investors And Nurtures Local Businesses.

Syarikat MedicPets Sdn Bhd has successfully penetrated the international market via participation in international expos.

IPOH, 6 November 2023 - Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad witnessed the Document Handover Ceremony for the Northern Corridor Economic Region Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) Programme and Certificate of Appreciation to Companies at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

Among the companies involved were Syarikat HZ Green Pulp Sdn Bhd, Syarikat B-Crobes Laboratory Sdn Bhd, Syarikat MedicPets Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Syallis Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Mesra AgroHerbs Sdn Bhd.

A total of 10 companies in Perak received the Northern Economic Corridor Region (NCER) Entrepreneur Fund distribution totalling over RM16 million to stimulate the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.

Dato' Seri Saarani said, after chairing the Perak State Steering Committee Meeting, the benefits received by the entrepreneurs were the result of collaboration between the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and Perak Entrepreneur Secretariat (STeP) to help MSMEs in Perak continue to grow and be competitive.

"The initiative implemented by the NCIA is very significant in making the state government's agenda to improve the ecosystem and talent pool in Perak a success. The NCIA's efforts have successfully attracted investments, nurtured local businesses and empowered the community.

"We hope to continue our collaboration with the NCIA to continue attracting investments, developing innovation and improving the well-being of the people of Perak," he said.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, NCIA Chief Executive Mohamad Haris Kader Sultan and STeP Director Mohamad Rozlan Mohamad Razalli. 

Meanwhile, Mohamad Haris Kader said his side will work closely with the Perak State Government to implement a strategy that will attract investors from within and outside the country. 

He said the NCIA will continue to play an important role in implementing programmes based on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Perak, and to date, 5,333 participants have undergone TVET skills training to equip themselves for the job market. 

He added that in the tourism sector, the NCIA has helped to redevelop Taman Eko Rimba Lata Kinjang by upgrading various facilities for tourists. 

They also cooperated with the Orang Asli Development Department to form the Lata Kinjang Orang Asli Cooperative (KOALK) to manage the tourism area so as to improve the socio-economy of the local inhabitants. 

Since its opening in 2022, Taman Eko Rimba Lata Kinjang has attracted more than 110,000 tourists from home and abroad, and helped KOALK generate an income of RM1.27 million.
