State Government Creates E-Commerce Platform For SMEs.

IPOH, 17 November 2023 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad witnessed the Exchange of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Documents between Digital Perak Corporation Holdings (Digital Perak) and Nityo Infotech Services Sdn. Bhd. (Nityo) at Hotel Casuarina@Meru here today.
Dato’ Seri Saarani said via the MoU, Nityo and Digital Perak will transform the S.M.A.R.T Niaga@Perak application developed by Digital Perak into a complete e-commerce platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Perak.
"Nityo will guide and implement 'onboarding' for the Top 200 SMEs in S.M.A.R.T Niaga@Perak at no cost to the state government and the SMEs.
"The Shopmatic e-commerce platform provided by Nityo will thrust entrepreneurs to a higher level with the potential to penetrate the international market, in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda under the Digital Economy Flagship programme.
"This initiative accelerates Perak’s preparedness to adapt technology that encourages the growth of new innovation and opens up space for government agencies, the private sector and entrepreneurs to improve the quality of service delivery to the people and consumers," he told reporters.
Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Perak State Development Corporation CEO Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak and Tourism Perak COO Zuraida Md Taib.
Meanwhile, Dato' Seri Saarani also launched the "Perak Traditional Food Promotion: The Miracle of Culinary Traditions" in conjunction with the Visit Perak Year 2024.
"It was organised by Hotel Casuarina@Meru to promote and highlight Perak's culinary and cultural heritage to tourists visiting the state, and thus elevating Perak as a major food tourism destination in Malaysia.
"This Perak traditional food promotion highlights the ‘Talam Set’, which combines various traditional dishes, including Patin Masak Tempoyak, Rendang Tok, Sambal Tempoyak Pucuk Ubi and Ikan Loma Pekasam, as well as desserts like Kuih Limas, Kuih Cecemek, Bubur Anak Lebah, Puteri Mandi and various other traditional foods and sweets that are synonymous with the state.
"I was informed that the 'Talam Set' promotion, priced at RM60.00 for two people, has commenced since September and will continue until the end of this December. This promotion is expected to help the growth of the state's tourism industry as it has great potential in enhancing the experience of tourists, as well as showcasing and upholding Perak's traditional food heritage," he said at the event.
