Dato' Seri Saarani said all Perakians are state ambassadors who will promote Perak as the preferred destination.

BATU GAJAH, 31 December 2023 - The Perak State Government via Tourism Perak organised a double celebration, i.e. Visit Perak Year 2024 Launch Ceremony and New Year’s Eve 2024 Celebration at Silverlakes Village Outlet, Batu Gajah.

The ceremony was officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, who was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.

Dato' Seri Saarani said all Perakians are state ambassadors who will promote Perak as the preferred destination.

"The Visit Perak Year campaign was last held in 2017 and as per the original plan, it should be held again in 2022. It was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and after the situation has recovered, we decided to continue it in 2024.

"We are the ambassadors to promote the history, culture and spokespeople to publicise the charm, beauty and uniqueness of our state.

"Utilise social media platforms to share interesting stories, pictures, videos or any medium that can attract tourists. Share insights on the delights of food, uniqueness of cultural activities and interesting programmes arranged throughout the 2024 tourism calendar," he said in his speech at the ceremony.

He added that by this new year, we had overcome every challenge as a big family that always worked together to build a strong and powerful state in prevailing over any challenges and obstacles. 

"As we count the final moments before the new year, let us resolve to work together in ensuring our state continues to enjoy prosperity. Together, let us strengthen the bond of unity that has been the key in overcoming obstacles and creating success. 

"The new year is not only to celebrate the achievements of the past, but also to plan a better future together. This is the time for us to improve understanding, nurture the seeds of consensus, and kill the seeds of conflict. Make 2024 a more glorious year for Perak," he said. 

Also taking place was the highlight fireworks display which was eagerly awaited by the 15,000 people who flooded the Silverlakes Village Outlet, Batu Gajah. 

Also present were State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, State Exco Members and Tourism Perak CEO Nurmalis Musa. 

The celebration continued with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to Tourism Perak's strategic partners, launch of the Perak FC jersey for the 2024 season and flagged-off of 200 Grab riders as a strategic partner gimmick for the Visit Perak Year 2024.
