“Mini Amazon Malaysia” Chosen As Kampung Angkat Madani.

LENGGONG, 12 May 2024 - The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has chosen "Mini Amazon Malaysia", Kampung Beng as Kampung Angkat MADANI.
Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this when officiating the Kampung Angkat MADANI KDN Launch Ceremony at Pengkalan Pipit Jetty in Kampung Beng here.
He said Kampung Beng has its own advantages due to its world-class archaeological heritage sites, as well as unique and valuable flora and fauna.
"This village has an added advantage, i.e. the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organisation) archaeological heritage sites here since 2012. That is why it has huge potential.
"We are upgrading several things considered important, including improving the residents’ well-being, i.e. upgrading the supply of clean water to benefit the surrounding villages, such as Kampung Batu Ring and Kampung Durau," he said.
He added that the Federal Government has allocated RM2.5 million to the Perak State Government to make this initiative a success.
Among them is the construction of infrastructure projects, such as village roads, street lights, clean water supply, electricity, social amenities and internet access, carried out through the collaboration of Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs), Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
In addition, providing access to education and healthcare facilities, such as appropriate boats and transportation; providing alternative sources for food production via initiatives encouraging or cultivating farms and crops with the government and private sector acting as guides to the residents involved.
His arrival was accompanied by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, KDN Secretary-General Datuk Ruji Ubi, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.
