HRH the Sultan of Perak signing the SBPI Gopeng launch plaque.

GOPENG, 27 June 2024 – HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Opening ofSekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi (SBPI) Gopeng here.

Also gracing the event were HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris Shah and HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

The Sultan's arrival at 11.00 am was welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

Also present were HH Raja Kecil Tengah Perak Raja Dato' Seri Iskandar Raja Ziran, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin (Rtd) and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohd Zahir Abdul Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah, Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members and heads of state and federal departments.

The ceremony began with the singing of the Perak anthem followed by the recitation of holy Quranic verses, doa and a speech by Fadhlina Sidek before the Sultan officiated the opening ceremony and signed the plaque.

After the opening ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses spent time visiting the exhibition booths set up by the students, and posed for photos with the administrators and teachers of SBPI Gopeng before taking their leave.

SBPI Gopeng is one of 14 Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) that had been upgraded as an integrated fully residential school.

Located in Kampar District, SBPI Gopeng started operations in January 2003 with a construction cost of RM30.4 million, and currently has 590 students.
